The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) through its Localization and Institutionalization Division (LID) and in partnership with the Save the Children conducted a technical assistance session on the drafting of Local Code for Children (LCC) and Local State of Children Report (LSCR) with selected Local Government Units (LGUs) last April 16-19, 2024 at Swiss-Belhotel Blulane, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The activity aims to ensure improved and sustained functionality of Local Council for the Protection of Children at provincial, city, municipal and barangay levels by mainstreaming child rights in local governance. All LGUs are expected to have the 4 Legacies for Children, namely: (1) Local Development Plan for Children (LDPC), (2) Local Investment Plan for Children (LIPC), (3) Local Code for Children (LCC), and (4) Local State of Children Report (LSCR).
A total of 32 active LCPCs members from the Municipalities of Sta Ana, Cagayan, Region II, San Jacinto, Masbate, Region V, Alicia, Zamboanga, Region IX, Agusan Del Sur, Region XIII, Pateros of National Capital Region, City of Calbayog, Region VIII, and Province of Negros Oriental, Region VII participated during the said technical assistance session.
