The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) through its Localization and Institutionalization Division (LID) partnered with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Silang, Cavite in the provision of Technical Assistance to Silang’s Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) members. A 3-day workshop was conducted on August 1-3, 2023 to capacitate the members on how to formulate the Four Legacies for Children, namely: Local Development Plan for Children, Local Investment Program for Children, Local Code for Children, and Local State of Childrenโ€™s report.

The workshop gave important information to the participants on the content and process of crafting the Four Legacies and enhanced their knowledge on Child Rights Concepts and Principles, Meaningful Child Participation, Newly-approved laws on Children and Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA). Their active participation, enthusiastic approach, and deep interest in the topics were vital in meeting the workshop outputs and identifying what specific course of action to take in the future.

By the end of the workshop, the LCPC of Silang, Cavite charted the ways forward/action plan to develop their comprehensive child rights situational analysis as an important prerequisite in formulating their 3 -year Local Plan and Investment Program for Children.
