The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Consortium Chairperson, conducted the 2nd Quarter meeting at the CWC Conference Room on 26 June 2023. The meeting was an opportunity for the member agencies and organizations to clarify and discuss their roles in ensuring the operationalization and functionality of the LCPCs at all levels.
Usec. Angelo M. Tapales, Executive Director V of the CWC, affirms the support of the CWC to the Consortium. He emphasized that the LCPC is one of the ways to reach out to Local Government Units (LGUs) and the children in the communities to ensure their protection from all forms of abuse and violence.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd), National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), Department of Labor and Employment – Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns attended the meeting. The non-government organization members of the Consortium, such as the Association of Child Caring Agencies of the Philippines (ACCAP), Laura Vicuña Foundation (LVF), Unang Hakbang Foundation, Inc. (UHFI), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Philippines, Open Heart Foundation Worldwide Inc. (OHFWI), Child Rights Network –
Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development (CRN-PLCPD), Educational Research and Development Assistance Foundation, Inc. (ERDA), Save the Children Philippines, Plan International Philippines, World Vision Development Foundation, Inc., Childhope Philippines, Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation, International Justice Mission, ABS-CBN Foundation – Bantay Bata 163 also attended the meeting.
