“It’s another win for Filipino Children with the proposed creation of the Philippine Commission on Children (PCCh) . During Monday’s hearing, the House Committee on Welfare of Children approved the unnumbered substitute bill to House Bill 4591, 5577, 7196, and 8163, also known as the Philippine Commission on Children Act. It will establish a unified body that will oversee all initiatives for children’s survival, protection, development, and participation.

The CWC lauds the Committee on Welfare of Children for the timely and prompt passage of the Bill at the Committee level. We are optimistic that the Bill will also swiftly hurdle the Committee on Appropriations.

It is CWC’s hope that through the PCCh, more children can be reached and their concerns adequately addressed with one agency streamlining and monitoring all child-related issues.”
