๐Ÿ“ธ ๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’: CWC Joins IACAT Advocacy Committee in Strengthening Anti-Trafficking Efforts

The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) actively participated in the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) Advocacy Committeeโ€™s annual planning workshop held on February 4, 2025, at the Department of Justice in Manila.

Led by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), the workshop assessed the first-year implementation of the IACAT Communications Plan and explored ways to enhance unified messaging under the theme โ€œIisang Nasyon, Iisang Aksyon, Tapusin ang Human Trafficking Ngayon.โ€ The event also focused on strengthening inter-agency collaboration to amplify advocacy efforts against human trafficking.

CWC, as the national government agency dedicated to promoting childrenโ€™s rights and welfare, reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that child-sensitive approaches are integrated into anti-trafficking campaigns. CWCโ€™s participation highlights the crucial role of protecting children, who are among the most vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation.

The event gathered representatives from various government agencies, including the Department of Justice, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine National Police, and more. Non-government organizations such as IOM Philippines, International Justice Mission Philippines, and World Vision Philippines also participated.

CWC remains steadfast in its mission to protect children from exploitation and trafficking by collaborating with government and civil society partners. Through unified messaging and strategic partnerships, we move closer to a safer and more secure future for Filipino children.
