Parents, let’s refrain from saying “𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚-𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐨 ‘𝐲𝐚𝐧!” to our children when we bear greater responsibilities in guiding them to utilize their gadgets responsibly. During these times when predators and abusers weaponize the internet to target and victimize your child, it is necessary to be vigilant and actively monitor their online activities, particularly on social media platforms.
As responsible parents and guardians, it is crucial that we educate our children about the potential risks and benefits of engaging with others online. Discuss with them the importance of privacy, the potential consequences of sharing pictures and personal information, and the significance of distinguishing between safe and unsafe online interactions.
As part of the National Coordination Center against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM), the 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 (𝐂𝐖𝐂) participates in the commemoration of Safer Internet Day, 06 February 2024, which was institutionalized as a national celebration in the Philippines through Proclamation No. 417, s. 2018.
Join us in creating a safe online landscape, where children can grow, learn new skills, improve their talents, participate in advocacy-related activities, and seize opportunities without compromising their securities, identities, and safety.
