In celebration of the 2025 National Women’s Month, the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) organized an Essay Writing Contest anchored on the sub-theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.” The observance highlighted women’s empowerment, recognizing their contributions across sectors, and engaging men as allies.
The activity encouraged CWC staff to reflect on the vital contributions of women across different sectors, as well as the challenges, hopes, and courage that shape their journey toward a more inclusive society.
Six staff members (4 female and 2 male) participated in the contest. The winners are:
Grand Prize: Edgard Movilla, Planning Officer II -Localization and Institutionalization Division
1st Prize: Megan Star Quizora, Intern, Office of the Executive Division
2nd Prize: Rhenee “Boy” Binondo, Regional Coordinator – Region XI
3rd Prize: Julianne Quisao, Planning Officer I – Public Affairs Office and Information Division
Prizes for the winners were sponsored by Deputy Executive Director Ma. Rosario Cuaresma. The initiative forms part of CWC’s continuing commitment to promoting gender awareness and women’s empowerment within the organization.
